Christmas at Owl's House

Christmas is a special time to visit, you'll find the house decorated with holly and a real tree, just waiting for your finishing touches and presents. The kitchen is well enough equipped to deal with the most lavish feast and the local pub is a 15 min. walk up the lane. Full underfloor heating will keep everyone warm while a cosy stove provides a spot to toast your toes after those windy walks.

Cornwall is very atmospheric at this time of year and there are a number of special events.

Mousehole harbour lights
The pretty harbour village of Mousehole is lit every Christmas by an extraordinary collection of illuminations including Santa with full complement of reindeer and sleigh, the loch ness monster and numerous bobbing boats. We go every year and eat fish & chips on the harbour wall.

The Eden Project
Last year Eden was transformed into a winter wonderland with ice rink, Bedouin tents, storytelling and hot toddy galore. I'm not sure what they are doing yet this year but they never disappoint. Even just being in the tropical biome on a dark winter night makes for an evening stroll with a difference. You will need to book this in advance of your stay.
